The Players Championship should have an early afternoon finish Sunday as the PGA TOUR announced it is moving tee times to the morning because of expected severe weather later in the day in northeast Florida.
Traditionally the leaders tee off in the 2 p.m. ET hour for the final round at TPC Sawgrass, but that is being moved to 10:01 a.m. Sunday.
The tournament will send threesomes off the No. 1 and No. 10 tee boxes beginning at 8 a.m. to ensure all rounds will be complete before thunderstorms hit the Jacksonville area later in the afternoon.
The morning forecast is for winds gusting up to 30 mph but no rain until early in the afternoon.
