Adam Scott and Jason Day headline a list of big names who will join Tiger Woods on the sidelines when the PGA Tour rolls on to East Lake next week for the season-ending Tour Championship.

The Australian pair were unable to produce a strong enough showing this week at the BMW Championship to survive the cut, sitting outside the top 30 of the FedEx Cup standings.

Scott entered play Sunday at Olympia Fields just two shots off the lead but struggled to a 5-over 75 to fall from contention. He dropped to 41st in the standings and won't play in Atlanta one year removed from finishing sixth in the FedEx Cup race.

Entering the week in 50th, Day needed a very strong showing to move inside the top 30 and qualify for the Tour Championship. Those hopes were dashed early after rounds of 76 and 74. He fell to 57th and will miss the final event for the second consecutive year.

Other notables who won't be in the field next week include Gary Woodland, Patrick Cantlay, Matthew Wolff, Bubba Watson, and Matt Kuchar.
