PGA Tour issues revised schedule with 3 majors, Masters in November

The PGA Tour announced a revised 2020 schedule in a joint statement with other golf organizations Monday that would have the sport potentially returning in mid-June.
The revision comes after the Open Championship was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic by the R&A. Therefore, the new 2020 schedule plans for only three majors.
The 2020 Masters is intended to begin Nov. 12, the tournament announced. Monday would have been the start of Masters week under normal circumstances.
The PGA Championship, which was scheduled for May, will start Aug. 6 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco. The U.S. Open will remain at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York and is set to begin Sept 17.
Here are the key dates of the reshuffled schedule:
Aug. 6-8: PGA Championship
Sept. 17-20: U.S. Open
Sept. 25-27: Ryder Cup
Nov. 12-15: The Masters
The Ryder Cup was not impacted by the changes and remains slated for a Sept. 25 start at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
Additionally, all FedEx Cup Playoff events are pushed back one week. The Tour Championship is now set to conclude Sept. 7.
The PGA Tour has yet to postpone or cancel any further tournaments of its own, as the Charles Schwab Challenge remains the next event scheduled on May 21. However, the event at Colonial Country Club will reportedly move from its May date to June 11, replacing the Canadian Open, and restart the PGA Tour's season, according to Golf Digest's Joel Beall and Brian Wacker.
