Sergio Garcia announced Thursday that he's leaving LIV Golf to play the 2027 season on the DP World Tour.

The 46-year-old is hopeful he can eventually make his way back to the PGA Tour as well.

"Next season I'll be playing on the DP World Tour," Garcia's statement read. "This tour has been a huge part of my career from the beginning, and I'm proud to call it home again. I'm also keeping my options open for a return to the PGA Tour.

"And probably the most exciting part for me is strengthening personal relationships, both new and old."

Garcia joined LIV Golf in 2022 in dramatic fashion, as cameras caught him openly bashing both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour in separate incidents during tournaments.

Garcia noted he is focused on improving his game with Europe set to host the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland. Garcia hasn't been selected for the Ryder Cup since 2021, but owns a 25-13-7 individual record in 10 appearances at the event.

The Spaniard also wants to make amends with Augusta National. The 2017 Masters champion found himself in hot water at the event last year after smashing his driver on a tee box.

Garcia won two LIV tournaments, and has 16 career victories on the DP World Tour. He's the latest to leave LIV Golf as the league transitions to new ownership following bankruptcy.
