Report: Thorbjorn Olesen arrested for alleged sexual assault on plane
Danish golfer Thorbjorn Olesen was reportedly arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a passenger on a flight from Nashville, Tenn., to London, according to The Sun's Nick Pisa.
Olesen allegedly molested a woman on the flight and verbally abused passengers. A witness told The Sun that Olesen also urinated in the aisle of the first-class cabin.
Police were reportedly waiting at Heathrow Airport to arrest Olesen. The Metropolitan Police Service confirmed that a 29-year-old man was arrested at Heathrow on suspicion of sexual assault, being drunk on board an aircraft, and failing to comply with the orders of cabin crew, but did not identify him. The man was subsequently released but remains under investigation.
Fellow pro Ian Poulter was reportedly on the flight as well and at one point attempted to calm Olesen down.
Olesen finished 27th at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational last week and is currently ranked 62nd in the world. He represented Europe at the 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris and has one top-10 finish this season on the PGA Tour.
