The PGA Tour announced on Monday an expanded schedule for the 2019-20 season. It will feature 49 FedEx Cup tournaments - an increase of three from 2018-19 - and multiple late-season adjustments to account for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The ZOZO Championship in Japan - beginning Oct. 21 - and the Bermuda Championship - Oct. 28 - are two new tournaments on the schedule. A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier and the Houston Open will rejoin the Tour during the early portion of the season after respective one-year absences. The season will open at The Greenbrier on Sept. 9.

A one-week break will be taken from July 27 to Aug. 2 for the Olympics. Multiple changes were made to account for that pause in the action: The Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit will be played in late May instead of late June and The WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational and the Barracuda Championship will occur during the first week of July rather than a few weeks later, swapping dates with the 3M Open in Minnesota.

"After a very successful first year with our new schedule, we are thrilled to expand the number of events to 49 while maintaining a great flow from start to finish, allowing our fans to better engage and follow the Tour throughout the season," commissioner Jay Monahan said.

"For the second year, we're excited about kicking off the Season of Championships with The Players in March, bookended by the FedEx Cup Playoffs in August, and the return of the Olympics in that window. As for the early-season portion of the schedule, our players grasp the importance of a strong start in the race for the FedEx Cup and this has translated into growth and momentum for the events played in the fall."

The regular season will conclude after the Olympics at the Wyndham Championship from Aug. 3 to 9. The FedEx Cup playoffs will start one week later and conclude during the final week of August due to the Summer Games.

Several key tournaments will also have new locations in 2019-20. The PGA Championship (May 11 to 17) will take place at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, the U.S. Open (June 15 to 21) will return to Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., and The Open (July 13 to 19) will occur at Royal St. George's Golf Club in Sandwich, England.
