Choi Ho-sung will make his PGA Tour debut at next month's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am due to a sponsor exemption, according to Golf Channel's Ryan Lavner.
Choi's become an internet sensation for his unorthodox follow-through, nicknamed the "Fisherman's Swing."
"I never imagined this day would come," he said Monday, according to Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo. "I took up golf at the age of 25, after a hard life. I'm fully aware that none of this would be possible without the love and support of my fans. I will, of course, do my best, wherever I go.”
The 45-year-old journeyman is ranked 200th in the world. He's recorded three consecutive top-17 finishes on the Japan Golf Tour and won the Casio World Open in November.
