Caeleb Dressel did something on Sunday that not even the legendary Michael Phelps could accomplish during his illustrious swimming career.
With a second-place finish in the men's 4x100m medley relay, Dressel became the first man in history to win eight medals at a single FINA World Aquatics Championships, according to the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
The 22-year-old won six golds and a pair of silvers in the pool to top his previous personal best of seven gold medals two years ago in Budapest. Phelps also captured seven medals at the 2007 and 2011 world championships.
