Dietz was sent back down to AHL St. John's on Wednesday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis:
Dietz drew in for two games while P.K. Subban recovered from a neck injury. In Tuesday night's game, he logged 21:00 of ice time while picking up four penalty minutes and seven hits, not a bad haul for his second NHL game. Dietz will be a key piece of the Habs' blue line down the road, but for now, it's more important that he keeps playing as opposed to sitting in the press box with the NHL club.
