The defenseman received a loud ovation from the Ottawa faithful Thursday after he ripped a point shot that was deflected top shelf by Mark Stone for Phaneuf's first point as a member of the Ottawa Senators.
Phaneuf added another assist on Mike Hoffman's goal not long after.
