The Toronto Maple Leafs shocked the hockey world on Tuesday morning, pulling off a surprising nine-player deal with the Ottawa Senators that centered around veteran defenseman Dion Phaneuf being sent to Canada's capital.

Phaneuf, who had been with the Maple Leafs since 2009-10 after coming over in a trade from the Calgary Flames, comes to Ottawa with a $7-million cap hit through the end of the 2020-21 season.
