Evander Kane says he is innocent.

"I just want to say I've done nothing wrong," the Buffalo Sabres forward told reporters Monday. "I look forward to clearing my name. I respect the legal process and unfortunately at this time, there's not much more I can talk about."

Lou Michel and Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reported Sunday that Kane was the subject of an alleged sexual offense investigation.

Sabres head coach Dan Bylsma said Kane will play Monday night against the Washington Capitals.

"He was happy to be on the ice with his team this morning," the coach told reporters, according to the Buffalo News' John Vogl.

The Sabres made a statement of their own Sunday in response to the report, declining further comment until speaking with the NHL and Kane's representatives.

Kane, who practiced Monday on a line with Jack Eichel and Tyler Ennis, has not been charged.
