On the heels of posting back-to-back shutouts, it was a completely different Jake Allen on display against the New York Rangers on Thursday.
The floodgates opened quickly after Derick Brassard opened the scoring just five minutes in. Mats Zuccarello scored a beauty just a couple minutes later and Kevin Hayes picked up his fifth goal of the year on the team's fifth shot to chase Allen from the game early.
Allen entered Thursday with a 7-3-0 record and a league-leading .950 save percentage and 1.53 GAA among goalies with at least 10 starts this season.
