The depth on the New Jersey Devils' forward group has taken a bit of a hit.
Devils forward Tuomo Ruutu is expected to miss the next four-to-six weeks with a fracture in his right foot, according to multiple sources.
Ruutu hasn't played since Oct. 16 because of the ailment and has failed to record a point thus far this season. The veteran was seeing bottom-six minutes for the Devils, averaging just 11:26 per night.
The Finnish forward joined the Devils at the trade deadline two seasons ago when he was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes. Since arriving in New Jersey, Ruutu has totaled 10 goals and 11 assists.
