St. Louis Blues center Robby Fabbri emerged as the rookie of note in Thursday's season opener against the Edmonton Oilers.
With phenom Connor McDavid lining up on the other side of the ice in his first regular-season appearance, it was 19-year-old Fabbri who recorded the game-winning goal on his first NHL shot.
Playing limited minutes in a top-six role, Fabbri took advantage of a sweet behind-the-back pass from Jori Lehtera and wired a shot past Cam Talbot.
