The Toronto Maple Leafs have released defenseman Mark Fraser from his professional tryout contract, the team announced Monday.
Following the release, Fraser signed a two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.
According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, the deal is worth $800,000 if Fraser is playing in the NHL.
Fraser spent parts of four years with the Maple Leafs organization from 2011 through 2014, suiting up for the big club during the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, and again in 2013-14.
The 28-year-old played last season with the New Jersey Devils, registering four assists in 34 games.
