Two-time 50-goal scorer Dany Heatley is through with riding the bus.
Heatley has signed a professional contract with the Nurnberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the team's official website announced Thursday.
The former second overall draft selection of the Atlanta Thrashers split most of his time between the Norfolk Admirals and San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League last season after failing to impress in his brief stint with the Anaheim Ducks.
He scored just eight goals in 43 AHL games - a far cry from the incredible output he achieved in his All-Star seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers and Ottawa Senators.
Heatley, 34, was born in Germany.
