Flyers' receive 2nd-round pick in Timonen trade after Blackhawks' Game 7 win
The big winners of Game 7 of the Western Conference Final on Saturday were the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers.
With the Blackhawks' 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks, a condition outlined in the trade for defenseman Kimmo Timonen was met.
In exchange for Timonen, the Flyers will receive a second-round pick in 2015 and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2016 from the Blackhawks.
The conditions outlined were that the pick would improve to a third-round selection if the Blackhawks won two series and a second-round pick if the team advanced to the Stanley Cup Final as long as Timonen suited up for at least half of the Blackhawks games.
Despite being scratched in the team's last two contests, Timonen dressed for 15 of the Blackhawks 17 playoff games. He has no points in those games.
