Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker didn't have the same offensive flare in the playoffs that he did in the regular season, and now we know why.

Zucker revealed to reporters at the team's end-of-year press conference Monday that he suffered a broken thumb during Game 2 of the first round against the St. Louis Blues.

He admitted that the pain wasn't too bad, but that the broken thumb made some aspects of the game more difficult.

“Pain-wise it wasn’t bad until the numbing wore off," he said. "But overall, I think the toughest part is once your thumb is numb, you can’t feel your stick very well, so stickhandling was a little bit tough."

Zucker had two goals and three points in 10 games in the postseason.
