Flames' Jonas Hiller won't lack motivation in 2nd-round matchup with Ducks
When the Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks lock horns in Round 2, Jonas Hiller won't be short on incentive.
The Flames netminder, who needed assistance in the form of a 17-save relief appearance from Karri Ramo to set up the second-round clash, is salivating at the opportunity to sully the very real Stanley Cup aspirations held by his former team.
"At the end, you want nothing more than to beat that team and prove to them they made a mistake not re-signing you," Hiller told reporters.
"I spent seven years there. I know so many people there. Sure, the team has changed since last year, but just to be in that building, which was home for me for so long, it's definitely going to be special."
Hiller was pinched at the end of last season with the emergence of the fresh-faced Frederik Andersen and top prospect John GIbson.
Update: Head coach Bob Hartley confirmed Monday that Hiller is indeed the team's Game 1 starter.
