Report: Blackhawks' Shaw avoids suspension after charging Blues' Jackman

Andrew Shaw should be thankful the hit didn't connect.
The Chicago Blackhawks forward will reportedly not be suspended for charging Barret Jackman of the St. Louis Blues on Sunday, but not necessarily because the act itself wasn't egregious.
Andrew Shaw caught a break when Blues' Barret Jackman bailed on the hit. Otherwise, it likely would have been a suspension. #Blackhawks

As this video shows, Shaw took a clear run at Jackman, launching himself into the Blues defenseman. Thankfully, he failed to make full contact, sparing Jackman from potential injury.
Shaw did receive a two-minute minor penalty on the play.
