Buffalo Sabres goaltender Andrey Makarov will make his first-career NHL start Saturday against the New York Islanders.
The 21-year-old will hope to play spoiler against the Islanders who are looking to pass the Washington Capitals for second spot in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams are tied with 96 points.
Makarov is 15-17-3 with a .902 save percentage and a 2.98 goals-against average in 37 games with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
