The Winnipeg Jets get the big guy back Thursday.

Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien will return to the Jets' lineup against the Montreal Canadiens after missing nine games with an upper-body injury.

The addition will be huge for a Winnipeg club set to play the NHL's top team.

Despite missing action, Byfuglien sits in the top 15 in the NHL in points with 42 and has been one of the top defensemen in the league throughout his career.

The Jets are clinging onto a playoff spot in a tight Western Conference race.

They currently have 88 points, two ahead of the Los Angeles Kings and one ahead of the Calgary Flames.
