Senators' Turris records consecutive multi-goal games for 1st time in career

The Hamburglar saves, and Kyle Turris scores.

While Andrew Hammond is getting the lion's share of the credit for the Ottawa Senators push towards a playoff spot (and rightly so), Turris is playing some of the best hockey of his career at precisely the right time.

Turris has scored two goals in each of his club's past two games - wins over Boston and Toronto - marking the first time in his career that he's recorded consecutive multi-goal games, according to Elias Sports.

While the second of his two goals on Saturday was scored on an empty net, the first came off a lovely feed from teammate Erik Karlsson, and proved to be the game winner.

The recent offensive outburst puts Turris in line to challenge the 58-point career high set last season, a feat made all the more impressive considering he's no longer sheltered behind Jason Spezza.

Regardless of what happens in Ottawa down the stretch, they certainly have a key building block in Turris down the middle for years to come.
