Kunitz was held pointless for the eighth time in 10 games Saturday.

Analysis:

He finished plus-2 with three hits. In a move backed by coach Mike Johnston, Kunitz was moved off of Sidney Crosby's line. Although Crosby is a big proponent of Kunitz skating with him, the team likely needed a change. Kunitz played left wing with Evgeni Malkin and Blake Comeau, so it's not as if the veteran was demoted to a grinding line. Kunitz, who has scored 15 goals and 35 points in 51 games, is pointing at his lowest rate since his first full season in Pittsburgh back in 2009-10.
