Matt Hackett led the Buffalo Sabres onto the ice ahead of their game against the Vancouver Canucks on Friday, indicating he will make his first NHL start since suffering a serious knee injury last April.

Jhonas Enroth has started the last three games for Buffalo after Michal Neuvirth suffered a lower-body injury. However, Enroth's January numbers (4.43 goals-against average, .863 save percentage) necessitated a change in the crease.

Hackett, 24, is 4-13-1 in 21 career NHL appearances with a 2.82 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
