They don't call Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk the magic man for nothing.
The perennial Selke Trophy contender pulled off a cool little play that didn't result in a goal Saturday night against the Vancouver Canucks, but was amazing nonetheless. The Red Wings star got a step on sturdy, mobile Canucks defender Chris Tanev through the neutral zone by flipping a puck to himself, then bumping the puck in the air again with his stick.
Then, because why not, he set up a teammate for a scoring chance (which Ryan Miller turned away):
Making a routine play into something spectacular: that's what Datsyuk is all about.
