Islanders' John Tavares 'fine' after being struck in the ear by shot

New York Islanders captain John Tavares was struck in the ear by a puck  shot by Tampa Bay Lightning defender Radko Gudas on Saturday night. He was rushed off of the ice while clutching his ear.

Tavares, 24, had scored the game-tying goal just moments earlier. In 33 games this season, the Islanders' captain has 12 goals and 27 total points.

Luckily for the Islanders, it would appear that Tavares has avoided the worst of it:

That's good news for an Islanders team that looked super elite in a 3-1 victory over the Lightning on Saturday.
