Dallas Stars forward Matt Duchene is expected to be out for approximately three months after undergoing surgery to repair a core injury, the team announced Monday.

Duchene hasn't appeared in a game this season after battling an injury throughout training camp. Dallas placed him on LTIR in September.

The 35-year-old has provided the Stars with reliable secondary scoring since joining the club in 2023-24, racking up 192 points in 219 games. He managed 16 goals and 29 assists in 57 appearances last season.

Arttu Hyry has primarily centered Dallas' third line in Duchene's absence.
