Report: Brodeur, Blues have deal in place if club elects to sign him
The St. Louis Blues have yet to decide whether or not to sign Martin Brodeur, but a contract is already in place and agreed to should the club opt to sign the Hall of Fame-bound netminder, according to a report from Sportsnet's Damien Cox.
"They already have a deal in place in case they decide to sign him," Cox explained during the Saturday's Headlines intermission segment on "Hockey Night in Canada."
The former Devil spent this weekend practicing with the club on a professional tryout (PTO).
The Blues are expected to make a decision early next week, so it would seem the veteran could be back in the NHL in extremely short order.
