Red Wings sign Czech forward Tomas Nosek to 2-year deal

The Detroit Red Wings dipped into the European pool once again, signing forward Tomas Nosek out of the Czech Republic to a two-year entry-level contract.

The 21-year-old spent three seasons with Pardubice in the Czech Extraliga, where he led the team with 19 goals and 25 assists in 52 games last season. He had a team-high plus-17 rating and tallied six points in 10 playoff games in 2013-14.

Nosek also captained the fifth-place Czech Republic team in the 2012 World Junior Championship.
