The St. Louis Blues drafted 18th ranked left-winger Ivan Barbashev with the 33rd overall pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft.
Barbashev, born in Moscow, Russia, represented Russia at the World Junior Championship winning bronze. He was drafted first-overall in the CHL entry draft and moved to Canada in 2013 to increase his chances of making the jump to the NHL.
Through 48 games played with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL, Barbashev scored 68 points.
