The Dallas Stars have reportedly held internal conversations about hosting a future outdoor game at AT&T Stadium, the gargantuan home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.
President and CEO Jim Lites revealed that the team has not yet talked to stadium officials, but will do so in the upcoming months with the support of the National Hockey League.
"The league is interested and after seeing how well things went in Los Angeles, we could certainly do it here," Lites said, via Richard Durrett of ESPNDallas.com. "But we're not talking next year. Maybe 2015-16 or 2016-17 makes more sense."
The Stars, near the bottom of the Western Conference heap, believe their window in becoming a legitimate threat will coincide with their plan to host a major event a few seasons from now.
While it won't rival The Big House for the largest crowd in NHL history, AT&T Stadium could potentially hold more than 80,000 spectators... comfortably.
