Shane Doan discusses his battle with obscure illness
Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan will return to the Coyotes lineup this weekend after missing nearly a full month of action. Doan has been sidelined since December 4th with an obscure illness known as Rocky Mountain fever.
Doan elaborated on his battle with the tick-borne bacterial blood disease on Friday. The Coyotes forward admitted that he's unsure about how his body will react upon his return since "there's not been a lot of people that [have been] through," anything similar, and added that the disease never really impacted his appetite, or caused him to lose any weight.
Understandably the Coyotes power forward, who has watched his team struggle to keep pace in the toughest division in professional hockey, is eager to return and make himself helpful:
#Coyotes F Shane Doan on his return: "Whether it's being the best cheerleader there is or scoring a goal I really just want to try to help."
