Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen sustained an upper-body injury in Tuesday's clash with the Washington Capitals and has been ruled out from returning, the team announced.
Heiskanen left the contest after logging only one shift in the second period. It's unclear when the injury occurred.
The 27-year-old entered the game with 11 points in 14 games while averaging nearly 26 minutes per night.
Heiskanen finished eighth in Norris Trophy voting last season after registering 63 points in 77 appearances.
