Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin plans to sit out games until he's traded, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
Larkin feels he's done right by the team in playing despite requesting a trade, but he's apparently had enough, Friedman adds. A deal reportedly isn't imminent.
Several teams are in the mix to acquire Larkin, according to ESPN's Emily Kaplan.
Larkin requested a trade over the offseason, though nothing materialized at the time. He then reported to training camp after being stripped of his captaincy.
Red Wings fans booed Larkin relentlessly in Detroit's home opener. During training camp, Larkin said he wasn't ready to discuss his reasons for wanting out.
The 30-year-old's initial trade list featured three teams he'd accept a move to, but Larkin has since expanded it to 10 potential destinations. The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly been monitoring Larkin's availability despite not being on his list of approved teams.
He's signed through 2030-31 at an $8.7-million cap hit.
Larkin has recorded six points in 10 games this season. He's played his entire 12-year career with the Red Wings, who drafted him 15th overall in 2014.
The Red Wings take on the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.
