The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Filip Hallander from the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenseman Spencer Stastney, the teams announced Wednesday.

Hallander has a goal and three points in two games this season, all of which came in Pittsburgh's 7-0 demolition of the Philadelphia Flyers in their opener. He was a healthy scratch Monday against the Winnipeg Jets.

The 26-year-old was limited to 13 games last season with Pittsburgh due to a blood clot. Hallander had one goal and four points. He was previously a standout in the Swedish league, racking up 26 goals and 53 points in 51 contests in 2024-25.

Hallander carries an $850,000 cap hit and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

The Oilers are without multiple forwards due to injury, including Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Matt Savoie.

Stastney was a healthy scratch for Edmonton's opening three contests. He recorded two goals and 10 points in 66 games last season with the Nashville Predators and Oilers. Edmonton acquired Stastney in December 2025 for a 2027 third-round pick.

The 26-year-old has a $1.525-million cap hit and will become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
