The Minnesota Wild re-signed forward Bobby Brink to a one-year contract worth $2.75 million, the team announced Tuesday.
Brink was set to become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday after the Wild didn't tender him a qualifying offer. He could've filed for salary arbitration had Minnesota qualified him. The 24-year-old had a $1.5-million cap hit last season.
The Wild acquired Brink from the Philadelphia Flyers at the trade deadline for former sixth overall pick David Jiricek.
Brink had two goals and four points in 13 games with Minnesota, and he added one assist in four playoff contests. He had 15 goals and 30 points in 68 games over the entire season.
The Minnesota native was drafted 34th overall by Philadelphia in 2019. Brink has accumulated 38 goals and 98 points in 214 career NHL games. He won gold at the world juniors with Team USA in 2021 and won an NCAA championship with Denver in 2022.
Minnesota has $6.7 million of projected cap space after signing Brink, according to PuckPedia.
