Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, San Jose Sharks phenom Macklin Celebrini, and Tampa Bay Lightning star Nikita Kucherov were named finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award on Tuesday.
The award is presented annually to the most outstanding player in the NHL, as voted on by NHLPA members. It's the only award voted on by the players.
McDavid posted 48 goals and a league-leading 138 points in 82 games. He's won the Lindsay four times, most recently in 2022-23. Wayne Gretzky is the only player to win the award five times.
Celebrini broke the Sharks' single-season scoring record with 115 points in 82 contests, notching 45 goals in the process. The 19-year-old would be the first sophomore since McDavid to take the Lindsay.
Kucherov is the reigning Lindsay winner and a two-time recipient of the award. He recorded 44 goals and 130 points in 76 games and ranked second to McDavid in scoring.
