Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin became the second player ever to score 1,000 career goals in the regular season and playoffs combined.
The milestone goal was a patented Ovechkin one-timer on the power play during Sunday's game against the Colorado Avalanche. He now has 923 regular-season goals to go with 77 tallies in the playoffs.

Wayne Gretzky owns the record with 1,016 goals combined in the regular season and postseason.
