The New York Rangers are trading forward Sam Carrick to the Buffalo Sabres, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

What the Rangers are receiving in return isn't yet known.

Carrick is signed through next season with a $1-million cap hit.

The 34-year-old veteran has tallied 10 points in 60 games for the Rangers this season while primarily serving as the team's fourth-line center. He projects to fill that same role with the Sabres.

Carrick has also racked up 86 hits and won 53.9% of his faceoffs during the 2025-26 campaign.
