Germany, Czechia, and Switzerland won its qualification matchups earlier Tuesday, eliminating France, Denmark, and Italy, respectively.

Sweden and the United States didn't play in the group stage, but the Swedes won 2-1 when the two sides squared off at the 4 Nations Face-Off in 2025. However, it was essentially a meaningless game for the Americans, who had already clinched a berth in the final.
The U.S. and Sweden have played each other twice in Olympics that have featured NHLers, with the Swedes winning 2-1 during the 2006 Turin Games and 4-2 during the 1998 Nagano Games.
