The Anaheim Ducks are for real.
Not many believed the Anaheim Ducks would be the best team in the NHL after their first 16 games, but after the 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers, that became reality.

The Ducks completed their eight-game road trip with a 5-2-1 record, and a big part of that can be awarded to backup goalie Frederik Andersen, who has stepped in for the injured Viktor Fasth with a 4-0 record, and just five goals allowed.

Corey Perry scored his ninth of the year, but also took this hit from the Rangers' Ryan McDonagh.

Could Al Montoya be inching closer to the Jets' #1 job?
The Winnipeg Jets stopped the Detroit Red Wings from a four-game winning streak on their Western Conference road trip with a 4-2 victory in front of the home crowd. Al Montoya started for Ondrej Pavelec, and looked good in stopping 28 shots for his second win of the year. Montoya has only started three games this year, but with the recent struggles by Pavelec, he may be in line for some more starts. (Attention fantasy owners!)
