The Vancouver Canucks have let teams across the NHL know they're listening to trade offers on veteran players in an attempt to get younger, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

However, the Canucks aren't making captain Quinn Hughes available or considering a full-scale teardown at this time, Friedman adds.

Hughes' future in Vancouver has been a major talking point as he approaches the end of his contract. The 26-year-old is signed through 2027 and eligible to sign an extension as of July 1.

The Canucks have a collection of pending unrestricted free agents they could offload for assets, including Evander Kane, Kiefer Sherwood, Teddy Bleuger, and David Kampf.

Vancouver has six players signed through at least 2031: Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, Jake DeBrusk, Conor Garland, Filip Hronek, and Marcus Pettersson.

The Canucks won the Pacific Division in 2024, then regressed and missed the playoffs last season, in large part due to an onslaught of injuries. They were hopeful of reemerging as playoff contenders under new head coach Adam Foote but are off to a 9-12-2 start this campaign.
