Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen was handed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding Calgary Flames forward Matt Coronato on Saturday.

The incident occurred late in the second period with Calgary leading 1-0. Jonathan Huberdeau came to Coronato's defense and fought Rantanen.

The play resulted in 20 penalty minutes for Rantanen: five for fighting, five for boarding, and a 10-minute game misconduct. Huberdeau received 17 penalty minutes: two for instigating, five for fighting, and a 10-minute misconduct.

Coronato left the ice immediately after the hit, though he did return in the third period.

Rantanen was also ejected Tuesday against the New York Islanders for boarding Alexander Romanov, who hasn't played since.

Rantanen avoided supplemental discipline for the hit and has never been suspended in his 11-year NHL career.
