Report: Demko expected to miss 2-3 weeks with minor injury
Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko is expected to be out for two-to-three weeks with the injury he suffered Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets, reports NHL Insider Frank Seravalli.
The issue is considered minor and unrelated to a knee injury that's caused him to miss significant time in recent years, Seravalli added.
Demko exited Tuesday's game after allowing three goals on eight shots in the first period. Vancouver ended up losing 5-3.
The 29-year-old has posted a .903 save percentage and a 2.80 goals-against average in 10 appearances this season. Demko signed a three-year, $25.5-million extension in the offseason.
Kevin Lankinen projects to start most of the games with Demko sidelined. The Canucks have two sets of back-to-back contests over the next few weeks.
