The record includes points accumulated with the Atlanta Thrashers. Wheeler played 23 games for the Thrashers before the team relocated to Winnipeg in 2011.
Rank | Player | GP | Points |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Mark Scheifele | 884 | 813 |
2 | Blake Wheeler | 897 | 812 |
3 | Ilya Kovalchuk | 594 | 615 |
4 | Kyle Connor | 618 | 590 |
5 | Bryan Little | 843 | 521 |
Scheifele has spent his entire career with the Jets. He was the first draft pick the team made after relocating to Winnipeg when the Jets selected him seventh overall in 2011. Scheifele surpassed Kovalchuk for the most goals in franchise history last season.
"I'm really lucky to be a part of this group," Scheifele said postgame, according to The Athletic's Murat Ates. "I have a lot of amazing friends - lifelong friends - so to see all the smiling faces and getting hugs from the guys means more than the world to me."
Scheifele's record-setting goal sparked the Jets to a 4-1 victory. Winnipeg's now won four games in a row after losing their season opener.
