Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach called out Ottawa Senators defenseman Donovan Sebrango for jumping him and trying to fight late in Tuesday's 5-0 preseason win.

"Strange play. It's not a hockey play," Dach said. "It's definitely something that if you did it out on the street, you'd be in a lot of trouble."

The Senators were losing 5-0 when Sebrango grabbed Dach and threw punches. Sebrango was assessed a five-minute major for fighting, a two-minute minor for instigating, and a 10-minute misconduct on the play. It resulted in a rare seven-minute power play for the Canadiens to finish the game.

It was a rough affair in Quebec City. Nine fighting majors were handed out throughout the game, as well as seven misconducts. Ottawa accumulated 102 penalty minutes, while the Canadiens had 50.

"Listen, you see what kind of lineup their coach wanted to play, it is what it is," Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher said. "We're aware. I thought we did a pretty good job of sticking up for each other and just playing hockey. It's what we're here for. If they want to do other things, that's fine. I thought we did a good job tonight."

Dach notched 10 goals and 22 points in 57 games last season before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in February. He's missed 129 games over three seasons with the Canadiens.

Sebrango made his NHL debut in January but only appeared in two NHL games. The 23-year-old totaled eight goals, 20 points, and 79 penalty minutes in 50 contests with the AHL's Belleville Senators last year.
