Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg will miss six-to-eight weeks with a broken wrist, head coach Scott Arniel announced Monday.

Samberg left Saturday's preseason game against the Calgary Flames after taking a hit from Ryan Lomberg.

Samberg recorded 20 points in 60 games last season, averaging 21:08 per contest. He was a team-high plus-34.

Logan Stanley, Haydn Fleury, and Ville Heinola are among the candidates to replace Samberg on the team's second defense pair alongside Neal Pionk to begin the season.

The Jets signed Samberg, 26, to a three-year contract with a $5.75-million average annual value this offseason.
