Oilers sign Podkolzin to 3-year, $8.85M extension
The Edmonton Oilers signed winger Vasily Podkolzin to a three-year extension carrying an average annual value of $2.95 million, the team announced Tuesday.
Podkolzin has one year left on his current contract with a $1-million cap hit. The new deal kicks in next season.
The 24-year-old notched eight goals and 16 assists in 82 games last season before adding 10 points in 22 playoff appearances. He also racked up 211 hits in the regular season and posted strong defensive metrics.
